Looks like Aguila/Centurion will be producing a 2300fps 30grain 5mm Remington Rimfire cartridge starting this spring. According to jessehunting.com the price will be about $25/box of 50. Sounds like its going to be a pretty good round.

Their website is down right now so I couldn't get much more than that. Sounds like they will be producing boatloads. I'm going to pick up a couple hundred rounds when they hit stores.

Thanks for the tip. It will beinteresting to see how this progresses.

But at that price, I doubt the "boatloads" will sell very quickly. And if they do reintroduce it, I'd hope for a heavier bullet, much like the original 38 grain version.

The old Remington ammo made a very effective short range coyote/cat load.

Looks like the boatload OWS had is gone, but they are still taking orders to be shipped later.

I latched on to 6 boxes of the new stuff, can't wait for it to warm up and I will tune up on some rockchucks...My little Remington is plenty beat up and looks like crap, but it shoots 1/2 inch at 100 all day long, so I have kept it over the years, but havn't gotten to shoot it much.

I have shot a couple of Mule Deer with that old 5mm when I was ranching in the Big Bend country..Both heart shots on targets of opertunity while I fed my cows...Always amazed my hunters who had been busting their butts to get a good buck and I shot them out in a grease wood flat where no decent deer would be caught dead..

Living there I knew the hunting pressure would push the big boys out of the mountains and into the Greasewood so I always took a rifle with me when I went to feed the cows that I moved out there during the hunting season so they wouldn't get shot....

I picked up a cherry 591M (appears possibly unfired) and a real nice shooter 592M at an auction last weekend. I've got plenty of fodder coming from OWS when they get their next shipment........whenever that'll be. Can't wait to get to playing with these rifles.

Thank you, sir.

I will look into that possibility. I really want to commence shooting these rifles.
