I was walking through the gun shop a couple of days ago and saw some of the new Single-Six blued shooters hanging on the wall and got to fondle one of them. The thing that interested me the most was the grips. They were similiar to the New Vaquero grips in that they were hard black rubber grips. They were a lot thinner than the ones I have on my stainless Single-Six which are the rosewood grips. I immediately asked the guys there if they had any of these grips in stock and was told no go and suggested that I call Ruger direct. I did that and ended up talking to a knowledgeable lady that indicated that this grip is made for the newly released Single-sixes that have the safety built into the frame under the grip and that they would not fit my gun due to that. I didn't have my serial number to give to her but I knew that my gun did not have that safety feature. Now the question. Is anyone aware of a manuf. that would make a grip for, I guess, the Old Single-six without the frame built in safety that looks like the New Vaquero grips?? I guess it also looks a lot like the original Colt 1873 grips. I would think that would be a seller as there seem to be a lot of guns out there with those fat rosewood grips. | ||
