a couple of the conversion unit 22 pistol have a tough time with standard vel. 22.

The Tanfoglio Witness likes Aquila Golden eagle target Std vel. eley prime, but the fp spring must be firm because i get light hits once in a while.

So far Federal Champion HV (#510)seems to be very consistent and accurate. 40gr 1240fps

Aquila Super Extra HV copper plate is also good. 40gr 1260fps.

The S&W 41 loves CCI mini mag but doesn't need HV to operate. The Witness can't group mini-mags

Aguila works for me..That hyper stuff at 1700 FPS is what Ive been shooting in my Brno mod. 1, its the worlds fastest 22 ammo. I have a jar of it..and its accurate at 1" av. at 50 yards..Its my hunting load..This gun shoots everything so far at the same POI, except shorts shoot two inches low and center and I can compensated for that.

I believe it was Saeed who said that 22RF rims (hence the primer) are anything but consistent. If so that likely is the problem.

Any 22 will pick its favorite ammo..I always try most of them until I hit on one that shoots under an inch at 50 yards..sometimes better than an inch..

Ive had good luck with CCI also..Fed works for me the stuff at 1200 plus ..... Im not sure if 22 ammo is inconsistent or 22 cal. rifles and pistols are inconsistent..Seems to me if you find a good gun, it will shoot well with most ammo?? but I wouldn't swear to it..

I do like the CCI + had good luck in the past buying the 550 rnd. bricks by Remington. I have not bought anymore Federal products since after Obama was elected + all the primer supply dried up Federal outsourced to China + the quality control went to pot.MANY negative discharges due to faulty primers.
