Don't order anything from this guy or his website. I sent him $52 via PayPal for a trigger kit and some Weaver mount adaptors on March 6, 2009 and have gotten nothing but grief. He will not return phone calls or emails.

I also learned the hard way that PayPal offers little or no recourse, despite their claims of safety and guarantees. Especially if you use the transfer funds option instead of a credit card. At least with the CC you can dispute the charge.

The guy has a VERY good reputation on rimfirecentral. Keep calling, possibly another reason for being late.

If you look in the CZ section at rimfirecentral.com, you will see that he has NOT been delivering for several months. It has been real hit or miss, and generally no communication. Formerly, he had a good rep, which is why I ordered from him. "Formerly" does not get me back my $52.

Do what you want - I am just warning people that he has stiffed me.

Why won't he return phone calls or emails? I think almost 2 months is plenty of time to at least respond.

I only had one dispute with someone where I used paypal, it took them a month or two, but I eventually got my money back. It wasn't a lot of money, about $50 IIRC, but the seller on ebay basically said, "Screw you." when all I asked for was proof she had mailed the item and said that paypal always decided in the sellers favor so go ahead and file a complaint. I did and she lost. Tickled the shit out of me. If you have filed a dispute, you should have a resolution eventually.

When considering US based operations of guides/outfitters, check and see if they are NRA members. If not, why support someone who doesn't support us? Consider spending your money elsewhere.

Yep, another good reason to fund PayPal with something like AMEX. I almost got stuck with PayPal's great lack of help. AMEX saved me when I called and explained, I hadn't gotten the product. They credited my account no questions asked.

I am sorry to hear about your problems. Here in Texas we usually refer to these types of people as thieves!

Run from E. Brooks products, and if you need a CZ trigger upgrade kit, there is a fellow on RFC (yodave) that is selling the same or similar product, and he communicates and delivers the goods.

You can also make a simple spring change to lower the pull weight. Part of Brook's kit is a repacement spring. You can do the spring change easily without having to buy his kit. That's what I did.

The Eric Brooks kit works very well.
I ordered it from Whittakers guns.
Problem solved (except for your $52)
Brooks communication issues have been documented at RFC for a long time.

You might want to look at Rimfire Technologies weaver rail for CZ 452's. I got one in LH and like it.

It looks like the best mounting system out there.

His website shows "Removed." I also just received a voice mail message from a Sgt. Thomas at the Oneonta, NY Police Department about Mr. Brooks.....

To be fair I thought it appropriate to let you know about my recent order.
I placed the order on Feb 28. The order was for three kits and one support block set. After waiting several weeks I attempted to contact Mr Brooks three times and received no response. Since I was going to be away for the month of April, I canceled the credit transaction through my card issuer on April 2.
On April 15 upon checking my email, I found that I had received an email from Mr. Brooks on April 8 indicating he would be sending the kits.
He also indicated he would be issuing a small rebate because of the delay and the fact it was a quantity order. He apologized for the delay but provided no explanation.
Upon my return, the kits had arrived and I reinstated the payment with my credit card company.
I just wanted to provide a little more information.

That seems to be his method - wait until a complaint or dispute is filed, or a credit card notified to reverse the charge, and then he is apologetic and responds. In my case, he sent one of three items after I filed a PayPal claim and since he has a tracking number, PayPal closes the claim. He could have sent an empty box, I suppose, and then I'd be out $52 instead of $37. (It's not the money - I just can't stand a thief! I just hope to keep the guy shut down.)

A Sgt. from the Oneonta, NY Police called me, as he is investigating my complaint. The PO Box is registered to another name - not Eric Brooks, so he operates under an alias. The Sgt. has checked out some of the websites, incluing RFC, The Firing Line, 24-Hour Campfire, etc. and sees it appears to be a fairly widespread issue. The Sgt. is a hunter and shooter, by the way.....

The police sergeant called me back the other day, as a guy from Colorado has also filed a complaint with them. "Eric Brooks" is definitely an alias, but "Mr G" still lives in the area and regularly uses the post office. Surprise, surprise, but the police efforts to contact him via the website have been unsuccessful. Roll Eyes They will eventually catch up with him, as they have gone to his house.

As they say - buyer beware!

I like Timney for most normal trigger replacements. Get them from Brownells which is an utterly reliable outfit to work with. They have friendly experienced tech people to assist if you have questions/problems.

Here's pic of the Timney in use on my son's left handed CZ (note Timney sticker under fore-end). We are limited by 32oz min. It does this every single time.

It does take a bit of inletting at the back end. But once in just shoot & forget. That trigger has easily 1000+ rounds through it (still @ 32oz). The combination of Brownells & Timney is darn hard to beat!

I don't know whether it was because he got a visit from the police or because he just finally got around to it, but I got home last night to find a postal money order from "Mr. Brooks" for a refund. Several months late, but hey, I got my money back.

I am gratified that you got your money back (I hate thieves and liars, too). You have also done everyone who has seen your story a great service in warning us about the guy who tried to rip you off...
