I just recieved some Armscor 22WMR ammo. On the boxes it says Not for use in North American Arms. Can anyone tell me what is the reason..... Many years ago there was a "North American Arms Company" that produced a centerfire rifle on the Sako L57 action. I doubt that this company ever made a rimfire, and if so it would be so obscure and rare as to merit no warning. So, bottom line is, I have no idea how this ammunition might conceivably be usable in a Japanese, German, or Filipino (where Armscor is produced) made rifle while unusable in a Cooper, Ruger, or Marlin.

I believe that NAA made an extremely small revolver both in 22 LR and 22 Mag. The whole pistol would fit in the palm of your hand. They also make a pocket sized semi-auto in the two rimfire calibers also.

I think that Super 88 may be right. The "North American Arms" company I was thinking of was a Canadian company that hasn't been in business for the last 40 years to my knowledge. The U.S. company that produces the tiny novelty handguns has the same or a similar name. The Armscor warning could be directed at that tiny pistol.

I got this from NAA. I do believe that the Armscor ammunition is produced in the same factory as the PMC ammunition. So with this it isn’t a warning issued by Armscor we do advise to fallow the warning. As you do know the PMC is not recommended to shoot in any North American Arms mini-revolver. The .22 WMR Armscor ammunition I have used is made in the Phillipines, while PMC is Korean. They may be handled by the same distributor, however; or the country of origin may have changed in the meantime. At any rate, the Armscor .22 WMR ammunition I have used did not exhibit any indications of being higher than normal in pressure or velocity. Neither did it exhibit any indications of being particularly accurate, I might add; at least not in my Kimber M82 which is very accurate with several other brands.
