As I mentioned, I reinstalled the oriignal barrel (and stock) and test fired my "build" with them. What I discovered should ease the minds of anyone who has spent money for a custom barrel.

I will not post pics of the results but the groups were no better than those without the trigger mods. There is a certain "slop" in the factory barrel that cannot be overcome with a good trigger pull. You can tell however, that it isn't the trigger that is causing the trouble!

I also looked around at the cost of rehabing a factory barrel: about $50 for rechambering and another $30 to $50 for recrowning. You can get a custom sporter barrel for just a few dollars more. If you want a factory look, this is the way to go. Kudude
