So how many 22LR's get sold each year, anyone know?

I knew the 17 HMR was popular, and being new it would sell well with that popularity. But I am very surprised if this is more than 22LR sells in a year.

It has been my understanding that there have been something like 1 1/2 to 2 BILLION rounds of 22RF fired in the US each year. It has been a historic benchmark for the popularity of hunting and shooting in the US each year and if I recall correctly 2005 or thereabouts was the first year that showed a reduction in the volume of 22RF ammo sold.
Please correct me if I am in error.
