Having nearly completed a 22 RF rifle intended for small game hunting whose maximum range will be 65 yards, I'm open to suggestions for its sighting system. I want to avoid variable powered telescopic sights. And that's my sole parameter. I have an Ultradot L/T sight with 4 MOA dot as a spare for my 22 RF pistol. I could use it. Since I do not intend to take running shots at anything, I am uncertain whether the L/T has sufficient precision to compliment the rifle. Were I to select a telescopic sight, I think a 30 mm barrel will yield a larger sight picture, but I haven't used a scope in many years. I'm merely guessing, based upon numbers I read off a specifications sheet. It's so simple to be wise. Just think of something stupid to say and then don't say it. Sam Levinson

I have used the Leupold 4x RF Special with no complaints for going on two decades now. Its fine duplex reticle and 60 yard parallax adjustment ought to suit your purpose perfectly.

I went with Weavers Classic shotgun 4x32 on my .22 LR along with Burris Sig Zee rings/offset inserts. Not sure if the scope is still on sale ($79/reg 245 from Natchez) but it's a great scope for hunting.
