just recently picked up a CZ452 in 22LR the model with the 16" threaded barrel as a trainer. I reduced the triger to 12 oz. free floated the barrel and did a little bolt smoothing. It wears a cheap 4x-16x Centerpoint scope. I just got back from the range, shooting wolfe match target ammo ( chrono at 1080fps ) at 100 yds., shooting off a bench with bipod and rear rest. The rifle was shooting .75" five shot groups ( when the wind cooperated ) I thought it was a fluke but repeated it a half dozen times. At 50 yards I keep trying for the one ragged hole but always seem to have one flyer in a five shot group. all in all I am very impressed with this rifle. I wanted to get the 452 while I still could since the 455 will be replacing it soon. Anybody else have similar experience with the 452, just curious.

There's a few getting similar results over at the RFC/CZ forum.I dearly want a 452 myself but I have to sell off some other stuff to cover the cost.Moneys just to tight right now.

The CZ452 is probably the most consistently accurate 22 rimfire made today.

I've got one of the older models (Euro style) that will shoot 5 Powerpoints into an inch at 100 yards, give or take a fraction and I'm a really poor bench shot. xxxxxxxxxx When considering US based operations of guides/outfitters, check and see if they are NRA members. The 452 I have loves Dynapoints. You get an occasional flyer but the bulk of them are well inside an inch at 50 yards. I've never tried it at 100. DW

I allow to disagree. Just recently, an Anschütz 54 Match followed me home for a price I just could not resist. That thing had been manufactured and sold in 1977, to rest unfired in a gunsafe until this summer. With diopter sights and an "adlerauge" lense it shoots into one ragged hole at 50 meters; a 10x40 Mildot scope is on order for the shiftable Anschütz mount I already got. I'd bet that with a little practice I can hit clays at 200 meters...

Those are great guns but in all fairness unless you got a killer deal on it you could buy several CZ's for what those normally sell for.

Yes, this is correct. Unfortunately, regular "outdoor plinking" became illegal here many years ago so the market is flooded with very cheap .22 lr Anschütz, Kricos and even Mauser rifles.

I have the cz452 American, and if you can find some Aquila SE ammo, buy it. It is fairly cheap standard velocity .22lr ammo, and it shoots great for me. I plink in the backyard from 35-160yrds and have been very happy with it. It seems the Aquila SE shells shoot extremely well out of the CZ's, annd I got the tip off of rimfirecentral.com. The hollowpoints make for a great small game shell too.

Just picked up a 452 Lux last weekend. Like you, I wanted to pick one up before they were replaced, and the lefties went away. I mounted a ProStaff 2-7x32 shotgun scope in high Millett rings, and here's the results. Not a great rest, just leaning over a fence post at forty yards, but the smallest group measures about 5/16". I'm happy.

Plus the factory wood is much better than I expected

Nice groups, and thats with the cheap stuff! I was hoping my rifle liked the bulk pack stuff...no such luck. Nice looking rifle. I don't understand the thinking on CZ's part. you have a winner in the 452 line why change it? I have'nt heard a single positive review on the 455 yet. Maybe it was to get folks like us off the fence to buy a 452, who knows. Enjoy that Lux.

i bought a 452 american .22lr a couple weeks ago and just this morning mounted a 2-7x28 leupold rimfire on it. since i plan to use this rifle just for squirrels, and shoot only sub-sonics, i shot a few groups this am. the only sub-sonic ammo i had was the rem hp subs, which shot extremely well at 50 yards and will be the ammo i use in the weeks to come. in a week or so i'll have the factory barrel cut to 19" and threaded for my suppressor. this is my first cz and i couldn't be more pleased with the appearance, accuracy and functioning of the rifle.

PNWHunter, thanks for posting the pics. I did not know that the importer for CZ was in KCK (says it right there on the receiver). Might have to get one for my son next year. sputster

Doubledown I use Fed. 922A in my CZ452 and I don't have as many flyers. Try them you will have better groups. JDY

Winchester Xpert is what shoots best in mine and it's very, very accurate. _________________________________ AR, where the hopeless, hysterical hypochondriacs of history become the nattering nabobs of negativisim.

I was out shooting a 452 with 28 inch barrel today and was busting clays with it at 130 yards. very quite with standard vel about like a pellet gun. Would stabelize the 22 SSS 60 gr from Aguila at 25 nice groups but at 50 yards one would get key holes about 20 percent of the time others in a nice tight group noise less hen a pellet gun with these. The long barrel is realy quite.

I have the silhouette version, and I absolutely love it. I put a Nikon Buckmaster 3 X 9 on it and the Eric Brooks trigger mod. My best 5 shot group (50 yards) was 0.13, and I had that framed. Most of the time, though, it's good for 0.5 in. at 50, often better. It shoots best with the bulk Federal Challenger standard velocity ammo (I've tried lots of other stuff, but none does as well).

Rifles that shoot groups like that with the cheap stuff are keepers, and rare in my world! My 452 shoot best with the Wolf match target, I bought a case from Champion SS, its all good.

Of all the cheap stuff I've tried, mine likes the American Eagle 38gr. hollowpoints. It'll typically go 1/2 to 3/4". Recently I've been shooting the SK ST+, and it'll go .4-.5" typically but it's about $50 a brick.

Just received a 452 American to go with my Varmint model and had a range morning for ammo test this past weekend. Here's the target--5 shot groups @ 25 yds off the bench, with 5 rounds into the berm before groups on paper.
