I got 2500 rounds of Aguila Super Colibri ammo and did a little range work with it this morning. I was shooting it off hand out of a ruger 10/22 last week and could not hit anything with it so I figured I should put it on paper. Using three different guns, a 10/22, a Ruger Charger and a Marlin bolt gun I found the BEST group to be 6.5"@ 75 feet. I then fired CCI CB longs in the same guns and got the typical 1-1.5 inch groups. Has anyone else played with this stuff?

Me, I have lots of experience using a T/C Super 14 handgun, that round is so quiet you might want to open the breech and inspect. It probably says on the box, " do not use in rifle " so you may have been at risk doing so. Over a thousand crows or so fell to the Super C., if you take a cartridge apart, you see the bullet is a hollow base type. I figure 50-60' maximum distance, maybe 2-3" at that distance.....r in s.

I made the mistake of shooting it in a rifle too. A bolt gun with a fairly long barrel. Every third or fourth round, one would fail to exit and succeeding rounds would push the one in front out the barrel until eventually both would exit at the same time. Kinda like a piston air rifle. Sounded like one too.

No real danger with the gun I was using but it might be different with a weaker bolt gun or semi-auto. regardless it just won't shoot consistently in a rifle. Too much drag in the barrel for such a weak load.

"Experience" is the only class you take where the exam comes before the lesson.

I should have specified I was shooting it in 16" barreled rifles and a 10" handgun. Poor accuracy in all of them. I was told that 18" was max barrel length for these. Maybe the problem in the semiautos is the varying recoil. I have used CB and BB caps for years but there are the worst accuracy I have seen. I will try them in my 10" contender and see how they fair.
