I recall talk about a phone (?) app that alerts you when something comes up for sale on the 'Net. Is there something out there that does this?

If you are as good as you say, I would suggest you go back to non smart phones.

They will not put too much pressure on your mental ability!

A very long time ago, a friend had a computer, so I thought I would get one too.

Went to a place where they assemble them, got the best one they could make.

with two floppy disks, and one ginormous hard disk that had a capacity of 5 megabites!

And to top it all I got a 4 color monitor.

Got it home and put it on.

All I could see was a flashing C.

I called the shop, and asked what is wrong with it.

He said nothing was wrong, and to use it I have to put programs in it.

No problem.

Back to the shop, where they had a list of many pages of every conceivable program available.

Price depends on how many floppies the program fits on.

One only pays the price of the floppies, which was about $1.5.

All pirated.

Got a few games, and a few others like a word processor.

It was easy then under DOS.

All one has to do is type the program name and off it goes.

Then went on to building my own.

Right now we have 6 desktop computers at home, all are built right here.

Life is so much easier now a days, as everything fits.

In the old days it was like an obstacle course.

When I 1st moved out here 50 years ago, in addition to party lines we had crank telephones.

Crank telephones 50 years ago?? I bet that was before Edison invented the light bulb and you watched tv by candlelight.

These were desk mount phones that had a crank in lieu of the rotary dial. this was a private phone company that 2 months later Ma Bell came in + bought out. We still had to deal with party lines for several more years.
