We commemorate the signing of the Declaration of Independence on this date -- a date fixed in time. But the liberties and freedoms Americans sought to procure with this document have never been at more risk from without -- and within from left and right, I am sad to say.

There is always hope Bill.

Hope that the tide would turn.

And common sense would prevail.
