Dear Fellow Wild Sheep Enthusiast,

The Alaska Wild Sheep Foundation Annual Banquet is being rescheduled from April 18th to June 6th. Same great banquet, raffles, auctions, super gear, guns, and world-wide hunts. The banquet will be at the Dena’ina Center on June 6th – doors open at 4:30 with dinner at 7:30.
This decision is based on all of the current predictions associated with the COVID-19 outbreak while we still had the flexibility to reschedule rather than cancel. We found a date that would delay the event long enough for the outbreak to hopefully be resolved or under control and yet not interfere with summer activities. Many thanks to the Dena’ina Center, our auctioneer, Online Hunting Auctions, Cabelas, and the other key players who were able to accommodate the change.

Your current tickets and reservations are still good. We hope that everyone will still be able to attend based on this date change or have enough time to modify your schedules so you can still be there. If you are really not able to attend then we will offer refunds beginning in mid to late April. Please realize that some of the events in June that might cause a scheduling conflict may themselves change or be cancelled. Also remember the tickets are transferrable. We will not leave anyone hanging.

Based on the date change we have modified the rules of the Ultimate Sheep Hunter Package Raffle (USHP) so that you need not be present to win. We still have some tickets for the USHP available. Unfortunately, the tickets of for the Alaska Sheep Hunter Rifle by Mark Bansner are already sold out. We will still do our pre-event special sale on raffle tickets as usual sometime in late April or early May. Look for details of the membership raffle with a chance to win a Can-Am ATV in the near future.

We have a special request to make during these challenging times. In addition to taking care of yourself and family please make an effort to support the Alaska small businesses. Many of these same businesses like Barney’s Sports Chalet are the reason that we are able to conduct these conservation fund raising events. If you are financially able to make those purchases that you were planning before the outbreak then now is the time to step up and do it. Make a discretionary purchase, do a takeout order from your favorite restaurant, order something for pickup or delivery later. This is the time to support those that have always supported us.

Once again, please stay safe, observe all of the precautionary measures associated with the outbreak, take care of your friends and family, help small businesses if possible, and together we will get through this. We absolutely guarantee one hell-of-a party at our banquet when the worst has passed.

Sincerely,

Kevin

If you are going to carry a big stick, you've got to whack someone with it at least every once in while.
