Gotta love it when people don't even read threads before replying!

Yes, temperature and altitude will change POI. All you can really do however, is re-zero your rifle when you arrive in the climate you will be hunting. I have never heard of hunting ammunition being tailored specifically for cold weather accuracy and can't imagine it would be possible (or cost effective if it were possible) to develop ammunition that was less responsive to temperature changes. However, I believe Lapua and others make match grade biathlon .22 ammunion that is tailored to the cold (which, of course, doesn't mean that it is not going to change POI when the temperature varies).

Best,

John

Some powders work better than others. I believe RL-15 is one that is very stable over a wide range of temps. I would try to work in that direction. Altitude and air density also make a noticible change in performance....not much you can do about that one!

We're going to be "gifted" with a health care plan we are forced to purchase and fined if we don't, Which purportedly covers at least ten million more people, without adding a single new doctor, but provides for 16,000 new IRS agents, written by a committee whose chairman says he doesn't understand it, passed by a Congress that didn't read it but exempted themselves from it, and signed by a President, with funding administered by a treasury chief who didn't pay his taxes, for which we'll be taxed for four years before any benefits take effect, by a government which has already bankrupted Social Security and Medicare, all to be overseen by a surgeon general who is obese, and financed by a country that's broke!!!!! I have not noticed a difference but I have only shot to -30F . I reload with Hodgdon powders. And also used remington and federal factory ammo.

From experience the spherical powders do very well in above freezing temperatures and are a nightmare in the cold temperature. Several years ago my friend was competing in the world Palma matches in Australia. Several companies
tried to develope powders that could be shot
at home and also in the extreme heat of Australia. If memory serves me Varget was a result of that research.
Other than calling the factory and hoping they will tell you their brew, one needs to either reload or try a bunch of different factory loads
in the weather you intend to hunt in.
