grizzinater , first you have to be a resident to hunt goats in Alaska. If you are a resident and don't live in Sitka why travel to Baranof to hunt all the towns on the mainland have excellant goat hunting .Prime hides are in October thru December but early season you see more goats and have more oppurtunity to get a big Billi. Thats if you are in good shape and can hike all day. probably the best people to talk to about locations would be the air taxi 's in town Harris air or Ken Bellows at Sitka air.

......Grizzinator ....The 375 Ruger is on the short list for goats ........338 is ok .....or you can be like the goobers and use a man wounder and hope you don,t run into one of those huge old bears that live up high ....There are some huge goats up the Behm Canal on the main land above Yes Bay .......Same situation tho ......#75 Ruger with a nice light bullet like a 250 TSX or simular weight GS custom ...zooming along @ 2800 plus ....WwwwwAAPPPPPPPPP !!!!!!!!

.If it can,t be grown , its gotta be mined ....
