Just curious... what was the minimim and maximum size cartridges used on the bears you've guided for? What is the cartridge used most? Any handgun hunters come through your camp? Famous hunters? ~~~Suluuq

I would say most of the shots my client take at bears on the penisula average 60 to 80 yards. I prefer under 50 and 125 is tops.
So an iron sighted 450/400 certainly is suitable but a scope sighted 9.3 more versatile. Most folks certainly would shoot the 9.3 better - and that is what counts the most.

I use 3006 and 375 because they have allmost same trajectory.Practising enough with both cals.
