We're currently enduring yet another real estate boom. A 2000 SF home in Anchorage will go somewhere around $200,000 - $240,000, and the same out in Mat-Su (1 hour drive) will go $180,000 - $220,000.

...and climbing fast.

I think a 2000 sq ft home in Anchorage is more like $250-300k.
