I drew a permit for 14C back to back years and 3 years out of 5. Go figure. I generally am not a lucky guy, nor do I usually win anything, but for some reason I have had luck that defies the statistics when it comes to that draw. I took two sheep with those three permits. I will be applying again for next year, with the Sheep Terminator Dan Montgomery Alaska Trophy adventures. They took the Governor's permit guy last year and had an unbeleiveable year. I need a monster Sheep.....
On those three tags you should have tagged out on three exceptional rams, I'm thinking at least 37" or better. 14C is a well managed mecca for big sheep, wish the other areas had time and effort put in to by the biologists.
I got the privilege to guide my wife on her first sheep hunt this past season on her 14C tag, a great hunt, great hike in, and the pack out. Now she's hooked and wants to be put in for other areas within the unit. Yes, There's good ones in there, but me thinks the monsters are in 14A and 13D, if the late Spring don't kill them off again....good luck to all those awaiting the draw.
