Erik,

I am curious as to why you got rid of your 7mm? I sold mine when I lived in Fairbanks and shot my first moose and it soaked up 4 rounds (good shots) before it finally went down. I immediately sold it and bought a 300 weatherby. Not that this is the ideal cartridge I just really liked it and I have not had a problem like that since then.

I still carry it on my trips your way (every year) but I now also have a 375 and 458 in the safe.

I just got back from a not to successful moose/ bear hunt 3 weeks ago and I will be back your way in May or so to try and fill this bear tag with my Ruger #1 in 375.

Doug

Dwhunter,

My 7mm started life as a Remington 7mm STW Sendero. I rebarreled it to a 458 Lott since I didn't need the range of the STW, but could use something for Grizz/brown bear.
