For all you urban hunters coming up the Taylor for caribou nx week: There are some bou around, not massive numbers yet though. I've seen around 50 shot for subsistence; all down near Jack Wade. There are caribou on Polly, mostly near the Y. Not many north of 40 mile and none to speak of up near Eagle and back in Minicup; usually 1500 around there by now; but sometimes they appear the day before season too. You all know about caribou, can't predict them guys. I drove down and got one yesterday, but did see some nice bulls when we drove back from Fairbanks a week back. Drove all night, too tired to shoot and cut up a caribou that day. I did see 40-50 moose on highway from delta to Tok, one nice bull north of cathedral rapids. Anyway, the caribou up the Taylor should be about as normal, thousands of urban hunters for a couple days and most seem to get lucky. One of the last places people can drive to and shoot a caribou anymore on the cheap.

Thanks for the update... really makes me wish I didn't have a 13 tag. Maybe next year.
