I saw on the other thread mention of the 400 grain bullets in the 458win. My question is: what velocity are you guys getting with these? Also more specifically 458WIN what velocity are you shooting your 400 grainers at? -------------- I worked up a load with the 350 X bullet at 2540 in my 458 win. I have worked up a load with the 400 X but have not checked the velocity. -------------------- THANOS WAS RIGHT!

I was getting 2250fps with 400 grain Barnes X bullets in my .458 and loved them. I also liked the 400 Kodiaks and the 400 Swifts so wil probably switch over to them Anyone who claims the 30-06 is ineffective has either not tried one, or is unwittingly commenting on their own marksmanship Phil Shoemaker Alaska Master guide FAA Master pilot NRA Benefactor www.grizzlyskinsofalaska.com

I have thought that the 400 Northfork would be good too. Thanks for the replies. -------------------- THANOS WAS RIGHT!

Yes the 400 North Fork is every bit as good as any that I mentioned. I forgot about them. I love them in my .375 Anyone who claims the 30-06 is ineffective has either not tried one, or is unwittingly commenting on their own marksmanship Phil Shoemaker Alaska Master guide FAA Master pilot NRA Benefactor www.grizzlyskinsofalaska.com
