TRL:
Congrats. The weather in the Brooks & around ol' Fairtown has been pretty crappy for most of Aug. We were up on the north side after caribou earlier in Aug. & the weather just plain sucked. We came home early - skunked. We were rifle hunting so had to get 5 mi. + off the road. I've heard several stories of guys that were pretty well weathered in on their sheep hunts. Hope this hasn't soured you on the Brooks - an awesome place to say the least.
Anyway, any photos? Now you know what to expect the next time.

I never thought that I'd live to see a President worse than Jimmy Carter. Well, I have.

TRL, welcome home. I too can't wait to see pictures of your bear and hear the story. Those blond interior/northern bears aren't the biggest but are by far the prettiest in my book.

Congrats!

Bob

I'm working on the report now. I hope to have it soon. The pictures really suck, but I'll try to post at least one.

Bear in Fairbanks:

I was really lucky. We had snow one day, and rain another. Beyond that, the weather was pretty good. Hunting on the open tundra is a lot harder than it looks! I really liked the country, but I think I'm getting a little old for that tough a hunt.

Thanks again.

Thanks.

Nice lookin'bear. Congratulations. However, it would really be nice if you could watch the comments on age. We couldn't go after shee pthis year but plan on another next Aug. on the north side. I'll be 63 at the time & I absolutely refuse to let it stop me. I really hope you can make another foray up there sometime in the not too distant future. Again, congrats & waiting for the story.

Bear in Fairbanks:

Thanks. I posted a hunting report.

Sorry about the age thing. You're probably right. It was a hard hunt, but the guide did tell me that most guys half my age would have given up and taken a day or two off to rest up before finishing the hunt. I refused to give up or quit.

I would like to go back one of these days.
