FrostbitGlock 21 (45ACP) conversion to 10mm
Has anyone on here done this conversion by changing the barrel, upgrading the spring to 20# and changing the mag (obviously). Did it feed and eject well without altering or changing the extractor?
Thanks
Jim

Cold Trigger FingerJim; I have swapped some parts around between the 20 and the 21 . But did not try the G20 barrel on the G21 slide. As much as I like the 10 + G20. I would have done a LW button rifled barrel in 45 Super with a 24 lb spring maybe a muzzle brake. But as long as you like it and its totally reliable. Your good .
I will be upping my spring weight on my 10 from 20 to 24 lb. With Max loads I got a little frame battering. I'm hoping that will solve the issue. If not I will go to a threaded barrel and a muzzle brake. For the amount of ammo it holds and its penetration and thump. I like the 220 gr Buffalo Bore Hard Cast TC load.
Phil Shoemaker : "I went to a .30-06 on a fine old Mauser action. That worked successfully for a few years until a wounded, vindictive brown bear taught me that precise bullet placement is not always possible in thick alders, at spitting distances and when time is measured in split seconds. Lucky to come out of that lesson alive, I decided to look for a more suitable rifle."

farbedoYes, you can do exactly what you describe; swap barrel, magazine and recoil spring. I did that with mine for a while with a Lone Wolf 6" 10mm barrel and 22lb spring. The extractor had enough grip in mine.
It was a fun pistol, then I went to a 460 Rowland conversion to try that out. I prefer the 460. A 265gr hardcast at 1250fps does a nice job on whitetails.

aklesterSeveral pages on the .45 Super and load data over on realguns.com Joe was working with 1911s and only springs of 28# or better as I recall. Interesting read. I have no experience with Glocks.
