Well, we may be a little early, but I am heading to Homer tomorrow for a 6 day boat hunt for black bears. We have a line on some south facing bays and some reports of bears being out, so hopefully my partner and I can take a couple respectable bears and catch a few fish as well. Hope to have a good report to post on the 7th or 8th...

Good Hunting,

When will you be in Anchorage? My office is right by the airport. Call if you want to have lunch or something.

Rhyme of the Sheep Hunter
May fordings never be too deep, And alders not too thick; May rock slides never be too steep And ridges not too slick.
And may your bullets shoot as swell As Fred Bear's arrow's flew; And may your nose work just as well As Jack O'Connor's too.
May winds be never at your tail When stalking down the steep; May bears be never on your trail When packing out your sheep.
May the hundred pounds upon you Not make you break or trip; And may the plane in which you flew Await you at the strip.

Would love to Brett, but I don't get in ANC until 2:30. I have until 6:30PM before my flight to Homer leaves. So I could definitely get out of the airport for a couple hours. Let me know if that would fit your schedule, and I would be happy to buy you a couple beers. Will PM you my Cell # as well if you want to discuss...

Been baiting my barrel last week or so, rebait it every couple days. The Boy flew home from school on Friday and went out tonight, but only for a couple hours. Bear been hitting the barrel but not early in evening. The boy had a big ole wolf come in though, after circling in brush twice, taking 1/2 hour. Wolf came in, looked right up at boy in ladder stand and exploded outta there, ha. I see tracks on my wood lot trail all winter long, but they always hear my snowmachine. I told the kid to take his Fox Pro with him tomorrow night too. Bear hear moose calves, like the dinner bell to ole bear.
