I am currently looking for a quality moose hunt for 2008. I know it is a late and most of the good companies are booked, but I would still like to try to book a hunt for this fall. I was trying to go back to Africa this year, but I can not. So I thought I would try Alaska. Can anyone make any recommendations? What is the best month for moose hunting? I have heard the wolves have taken there toll on the Moose populations. Are any areas better then others? Ideally, I would like 2 openings. One for myself and one for my father. We do not need to hunt together. Just travel together. Thanks,

I would recommend hunting moose as late in September as possible, thats when the bulls will be the most active. As far as wolves go, it all depends on what area you are hunting but there are a few areas that have been adversly affected by them. Try getting ahold of Wayne Kubatt of Remote Guide Service http://www.alaskaremote.com/ I've also heard good thing about George Siavelis but he might be booked up already. http://www.alaskahuntingguide.com/ "We band of 45-70'ers"

I have moose in northern Manitoba, fly in area north of Lynn Lake. Lots of decent bulls come out of there every year. If you can't find something in AK give me a shout. ~Ann

Try Renfro’s Alaskan Adventures If you are going to carry a big stick, you've got to whack someone with it at least every once in while.
