Just wanted to post a thank you to all of AK. I got back from my first hunt there. It was an unbelievable experience and I was honored to be able to hunt in such a wonderful place. I can't wait to go back.

If you're interested here's my report.

Glad you had a good trip. Jake is a good guy.

Atleast the goat didnt break off a horn, a busted skull plate can be repaired easily. I hate suicidal white animals...

A lesson in irony

The Food Stamp Program, administered by the U.S. Department of Agriculture, is proud to be distributing this year the greatest amount of free Meals and Food Stamps ever, to 46 million people.

Meanwhile, the National Park Service, administered by the U.S. Department of the Interior, asks us... "Please Do Not Feed the Animals." Their stated reason for the policy is because "The animals will grow dependent on handouts and will not learn to take care of themselves."

Thus ends today's lesson in irony.

I was a little nervous on the trek up to him not knowing what he would look like and I was relieved to see both horns unbroken. A couple days after my cape and horns made it to the taxidermist I stopped in to talk to my guy. He already had the skull plate cleaned up and repaired and was just about to epoxy the horns back on.
