I called James at Barneys on Friday and ordered a pair of Sourdough Slippers. I couldn't believe it when they showed up today (Monday). What a pleasure it is to deal with those guys.

Back in the early 70's I bought most all of my gear from Barney's. They were great to the poor military folks like myself. Over the years I have gone back and bought even more, though I no longer live in Alaska. Customer service creates loyalty.

When I first moved up here last year I worked there while I was waiting to buy my practice. I still work there on rare occasions for the gear discounts. ALL their gear is top shelf.

Rhyme of the Sheep Hunter
May fordings never be too deep, And alders not too thick; May rock slides never be too steep And ridges not too slick.
And may your bullets shoot as swell As Fred Bear's arrow's flew; And may your nose work just as well As Jack O'Connor's too.
May winds be never at your tail When stalking down the steep; May bears be never on your trail When packing out your sheep.
May the hundred pounds upon you Not make you break or trip; And may the plane in which you flew Await you at the strip.
