Kev: I was born a southern boy and had lived here all my life until I talked Uncle Sam into shipping me to Kodiak. I fell in love with the place. It has a rugged natural beauty that defies description. Alaska's people are a lot like you would find in some of the rural towns down here. Simple, polite and always willing to extend a helping hand. It's been 5 years since I left the last frontier. I have only managed to go back and visit once. I am homesick for it. I can get a choked up, hollow feeling inside just from watching Alaska hunting and fishing shows on TV. I ache to go back. I can retire in 9 months and have been scouring the classifieds for a job. I hope you find your stay there as rewarding as I did. Paul | ||
