Have a friend looking for a sheep in 2008 and he is willing to go on relatively short notice. Obviouslly, looking for the discount opportunity. Any of you guys out there that are outfitters or agents that want to get in touch please send me any contact information or post on this thread. Easy to get lost in the post so please PM me if you wish. Thanks, Larry York, SC

Larry, Tell your friend to be very wary of "cancellation" hunts...true cancellations are very rare. Often a spot that has not been filled is called a cancellation and the price may be reduced slightly to make it more attractive. Further, there are some very shoddy outfits operating in Alaska who will tell you anything you want to hear. Be very suspect of any hunt priced under $10,000...also in Alaska there are areas that everyone hunts and those are areas to stay away from. I would lean your friend toward an exclusive use area in the Wrangell/St. Elias region...or up in ANWR...one of my "go to" outfitters offers a hunt in the Wrangells for $12,000 (includes transfers from Fairbanks and charter flight)...add license/tag and your there. Success rate in this area is near 100% and they only take 6 sheep hunters per season. Average ram will be 35-37". Feel free to contact me for details on this or any of the many hunts we offer. I would be happy to visit with your friend to offer him some advise and share my experience. Cheers, Clark Jeffs Safari Outfitters, Inc. (307) 587-5596 Cody, WY

In all things in life, you get what you pay for. There is no such thing as a cheap sheep hunt.
