Well a certain someone who posts on here talked me into getting a 9.3x64 B from him and building it up.,., Now I guess no one in Anchorage has ammo for it.,., I seem to remember that point was made in some arguement we had last winter on this caliber .,., But I must say this Matunuska / Copper River country just screams 9.3x64 Brenneke .,., I found a machinest / rifle smith who is so much beyond what I ever thot I would find up here and he has put the barrel on the action and is breaking it and doing the trigger.., Later I will have him put the express sights and band swivel stud on the barrel. He also has a source of execellent synthatic stocks made in Big Lake ., It should make into a wonderful 8 lb all purpose rifle....Not a true RED MISTER . but mayby a nice wifes rifle... I will probably have to order everything from HDS for it to eat.... Thats ok . I guess Great Northern guns was out when a friend , checked a few days ago.., Any other suggestions ???? gumboot out..,.,.

.If it can,t be grown , its gotta be mined ....

Huntingtons.com has RWS brass for the 9.3X64mm but it is very expensive. midwayusa.com has reforming dies for 338 Winchester Magnum which is probally the least expensive way for brass.

gummy, I hope you reload. It seems you have an oddball in regards to obtainable factory fodder. I have ordered my brass from Huntingtons as well. What some consider expensive is not to me. I bought some 6 boxes for I dunno 26 bucks or somewhere abouts-not to bad really.

I know I shared with you about my 64 that is still awaiting completion-to date. The country I too live in "screams" brenneke too. Smiler

reload if you can

good hunting

.......Ya but what do you do with the belt ??????????Actually I ordered 9.3x64 brass ...It is real good stuff and was only about 1.15 $ a piece....The expensive part was the dies ...and the shell holder..the shell holder cost almost as much as a box of brass......

Old Western Scrounger used to carry it...It is hard to come by..I used the 9.3x64 caliber for short time, shot some buffalo with it, but gave up on it when I could no longer get RWS brass. and went to the 9.3x62 and with a good handload I can come to within 75 FPS of any 9.3x64 load if I use a 26 inch tube..The 9.3x62 stuff is much easier to come by..I understand that 9.3x64 brass is available once again from RWS, and that is the best brass in the world, so you should be all set if you handload, if not buy the brass and dies and have someone load it for you....

.......Ray ;;;;....I like the shorter barrels ...Mine has a 22 1/2" with and inch used in the integral brake ...............I REALLY LIKE this rifle and shoot it very well .... my 250 gr TSX load @ 2725 , useing H4895 or 2750 fps w/68.5 gr RL 15 ...Is very good ....with this 1.5-6 x 40 Burris Sig.scope it is a great combo..... I haven,t shot it from the bench yet ,,, but from the cab of my pickup my final sight in group was 2" wide and 1.2" high @ 225 paces in a 8 mph cross wind ..........I,m really jazzed that YK Delta will be selling the GS Custom bullets and all I will have to do is drive to Palmer to pick them up.....Hopefully my rifle will like the 230 gr HV bullet as it is the end all cure all interior bullet in my view .......@ 2800 fps ....I think I will have found about as good a rifle and load as I can ..........I ordered my brass and dies from Huntington,s ....And the RWS brass is great ...........A friend here made up a wildcat "366 Alaskan" 9.3x338 win .....He gets the same velocities I do with the same powder charge ...except he has 2" longer barrel ........I think the wider bullets gives a slight advantage on a bear real close compared to the 338 Win Mag .,,,,,,but with the stream lined mono metal bullets it is pretty flat shooting .............I personally feel it is superior to the 375 H&H [[for what I will do with it .]]]..........It ,,with the integral brake is like shooting a 270 win .. and it,s not any louder at my ears .........My wife will be able to shoot it easily and well if need be ...........I,m not 100% satisfied on the feeding and ejection ,, and the rifle will need a little more time at my smith,s ...But it will come around by the time spring bear arrives .........
