Nada for me but I'm still in Alaska do all is good

A lesson in irony

The Food Stamp Program, administered by the U.S. Department of Agriculture, is proud to be distributing this year the greatest amount of free Meals and Food Stamps ever, to 46 million people.

Meanwhile, the National Park Service, administered by the U.S. Department of the Interior, asks us... "Please Do Not Feed the Animals." Their stated reason for the policy is because "The animals will grow dependent on handouts and will not learn to take care of themselves."

Thus ends today's lesson in irony.

No 14C or Tok sheep tag for me.

Not surprising, yet still disappointing.

Always next year. Yeah right!

nothing for me again this year. They cancelled all the valley cow tags too. The heavy snow fall is playing havoc on them this year. I heard they are averaging a moose/car collision every 6 hours in the valley.

A bear tag each for Kodiak for one of my sons and I in two different areas but they are adjoining so. Same son also drew a late season cow moose permit for outside of Fairbanks. Pretty excited for sure it's going to be a busy season.

First tag since 1976, DM 812, Dubi river moose hunt. They pull out some 70 inchers here every year so hope luck is on my side otherwise we will just fill the freezer. No permit needed to hunt this area, but you need one if you want to keep the antlers intack otherwise one palm needs to be cut in half. Have a spot all picked out in my house to mount a huge rackSmiler
Was going to sell my river boat now have a use for it, lol. Just hope gas doesnt go above $6.30 a gallon at Galena (last years price)

My biggest fear is when I die my wife will sell my guns for what I told her they cost.

Holy crap - I can't believe I drew a TMA Sheep hunt. It's been 20 years since I drew TMA. I also drew an Alaska Range Caribou.

I hate to say it but I've got a problem now. The TMA is for the late season, Aug 26th to Sept 20. At the SCI convention I booked an early Bighorn hunt, starting Sept 6th in BC.

I know, most hunters would love to have my problems.

They are supposed to be refunding those valley moose tags. Creditting your credit card or mailing a refund check.

I drew a DS384 sheep tag. Has anyone done this hunt? Out of Kotz - Delong Mountains...

Getting ready to leave next week for a Nunivak Musk Ox hunt. If your ever going to put in for this one, you may want to start putting some $ aside. Whew, I could go to Africa for what I have into this hunt! I am not complaining though - I am excited and grateful for the experience!

Zero for me.

But, no complaints, I drew 2 years back to back and 3 out of 5 years 14C.

Good luck to all. I wait for the Hunt reports and photos. popcorn

That is some amazing luck, that is one hard tag to draw, congrats.

I drew a unit 13 moose tag. Not the premier hunt I hoped for, but not bad as a third choice.

"Don't hate me because I'm beautiful..."

Ridiculous. I drew 4 tags. Muzzleloader moose, dc380 caribou, a Kodiak goat tag, and a sheep tag.

I would have been happy with one or two. If I were 20 years younger and single, I'd be happy as a clam.

Sorry guys. I'd give two back if I could. I'll give it my best, but I can't do all 4. A buddy of mine got a bison tag - another miracle!

Needless to say, the sheep tag has my attention.
