Chena Hot springs is nice .....What part of Alaska do you summer in ... ?? Drive the Haul Road ....Shop , Go to Down Under Guns ,,Go to Denny,s .. Book a Frontier Air, mail round trip out west ,,I flew in from Otz this fall when the birch and cotton wood had turned color .. It was the first sunny day in 4 and it was a beautiful flight.. Avoid south Cushman at night...I can entertain myself all afternoon in AIH or Home Depot looking at toys,I mean tools

.If it can,t be grown , its gotta be mined ....

Mr. Maddog,
There is a stern wheeler River Boat tour you might like to consider. Don't remember the exact dates but the Frontier Days Celebration is a big deal in town.
The folks at "Down Under Guns" are a top notch group of people. Their dogs do have a tendency to get under foot, at times.
Best Wishes

MD:
WW is referring to the Golden Days celebration in July. IIRC, it's around the 3rd week of July or so & lasts for a week. They usually have a parade on the last day which is always a Sat. Over the years, it's been "toned" down a bit. For instance, it used to be that if a guy didn't have a beard or a special "pass", he could be "arrested". Actually, with all of the "honeys" running the Golden Days jail, not all that bad. Also, during Golden Days, you can buy an arrest warrent for someone. They'll be picked up by the Golden Days "honey's" and spend a bit of time in the pokey. Kinda fun having somebody arrested. Of course, be prepared for lottsa motorhomes. Other possibilities on things to do is the museum up at the U. of A. (pretty nice) and a day trip to Chena Hot Springs. Just a few thoughts.

Unless you're the lead dog, the scenery never changes.

I never thought that I'd live to see a President worse than Jimmy Carter. Well, I have.

Mr. Bear,
Thank you. I had forgotten the correct name of the event. (Senility is among the nicer things the Wife accuses me of suffering from.)
Everyone I have spoken to that has attended the Golden Days celebration event, spoke of having a good time.
Best Wishes
