Self-Defense Reform Bill Scheduled for Senate Committee Hearing

Not much time left.
This hearing is scheduled for Wednesday, March 7, at 1:30 p.m.

House Bill 80, introduced by state Representative Mark Neuman (R-15), is important self-defense legislation that would provide that a law-abiding person, who is justified in using deadly force in self-defense, has “no duty to retreat” from an attack if the person is in any place the person has a legal right to be.
HB 80 passed in the state House at the end of last session and has finally been assigned a hearing date in the state Senate Judiciary Committee. This hearing is scheduled for Wednesday, March 7, at 1:30 p.m.

We all need to be watching this. I do not know how other states view this area of self defense.

FL passed that law a couple years ago. So far no repercussions except that the libs don't like it.

Has this really been a problem in AK? I'm all for it, but I'm also for not passing un-needed laws.

It ain't Massachusetts.

Ya, Florida is about to be tested with the George Zimmerman/Treyvon Martin deal.
There will be NO winners no matter the outcome.
