Something else: A few of the local Indians stopped by today and we watched a couple "below zero" shows I had dvr'ed. They really enjoyed it and got some laughs when they saw "Hollywood" (Andy Basiches) new name around here coming outta his steam bath. They all had their cabins washed away 5 years back, so they knew first hand what it was all about.

I really figure that Hailstone guy is OK by most rural people's estimate. Everybody should just enjoy the show and not worry about his personal business; I bet most on here got things in the closet too, ha ha. Most on here couldn't hold a candle to him at living subsistence either. We see people show up every spring, into Alaska, going to live off the land; most can't wait until the Road opens in Spring to head back to lower 48 with their tail between their legs.

So I say Hailstone, you're doing good.

I didn't say Chip was a bad guy just answering as to why he isn't doing any shooting on TV.

"Personal Business" isn't personal when you let somebody film it for broadcast.

I've not watched the shows mentioned here but I've no doubt the characters are very fine people. That said, they've made the decision to allow the scrutiny of their lives via cable tv. Assuming the scrutiny would be selective would be ignorant.

As an example, consider all the good and not so good trivia we now know, (or think we know,) about Ms Palin and her family. We'd know quite a bit less and they'd have quite a bit more privacy if she'd of kept to public service and off the cable shows.
