On our way out of Sitka in September we'll have one night to spend in a hotel before our flights home. We've been offered to stay on the outfitters boat for the night, but we'd like a shot at unlimited hot water and regaining our land-legs. Any recommendations for a hotel, preferably with a decent restaurant/bar in or close by?

I guess this is the kind of question you would expect if you were getting dropped in ozinkie or angoon I’m surprised you’re outfitter didn’t clue you in all the nice hotels, restaurants and bars in Sitka most are within 100 yards of each other and super eight is the only one I think that has a laundromat, but you can ask your phone for a list of restaurants and hotels If your gonna be dumb, you gotta be tuff.

It has been a while since I have been to Sitka, always chartering out of a great friend's classic fantail yacht, salmon and Halibut fishing and taking my Brown Bear as well!! The odd time we didn't stay on the boat, we stayed at The SHEE ATIKA, now WESTMARK. Central in town, near marinas, and has airport service. Our outfitters favorite restaurant is The Channel Club, out north of town. Great local seafood and steaks. Orion Hardware and Sporting Goods is a great place to buy licenses, and any kind of gear you need for fishing or hunting. Owned by Outfitter and Captain Bert Stromquist. Have a great trip, Sitka is a special favorite of mine. Lots of memories!! 470EDDY
