Cold Trigger FingerCarrying ones rifle in bear country
Yup; A guy has to do the best he can with what he can get. I do agree that something like a 900 gr slug at 1100 fps would be a pretty good equalizer. I've only seen Brenneke slugs a few times up here . I think that's because as soon as they get in stock someplace they get bought up right away.
What bullet r u planning on using in your new 375 ?

Angus MorrisonThe 235gr CEB Raptor soon as I test it on a couple black bear hunts this spring. They sponsored me this year for full disclosure but the design is in my mind the near perfect bear bullet. I'll be sure to share my thoughts on it.
In the meantime before that likely the 235gr TSX.

Cold Trigger FingerI watched a YouTube vid last night of a false charge by a sow. It wasnt till she got their wind that she turned away . Even tho the 2 hunters had been talking and talking to her, loud enough for her to know they were people. And the one guy had fired at least 2 warning shots near her. It's worth watching , especially if you usually wrap your rifle up and put it to bed inside your pack.
If carrying a rifle in your hands is not something you can do, then I recommend a chest holster , or a holster on your hip belt. A 10 or 45 Super in your hands sure beats a cannon inside your pack.
