Anxiously awaiting!

My hunt was a fall hunt and got a beautiful coat, fatty.

Want to see the Spring bears and estimates on weight.

I estimated the weight on a fall brownie from kodiak once at 1700lbs. Was told I was full of crap. So I don’t estimate anymore. I do know the green hide fleshed out was right at 200lbs. Dry shipping weight two weeks later was 150lb. 10’6”. If I sat on it my feet didn’t reach the ground on either side. Haven’t shot a bear like it before or since. He was unreal.

That is a pig of a bear not matter what it's actual weight was.

We estimated mine at 1,400. It was 10'2.5", 10'8" if you measured the Russian way (stretch it)

Seeing that picture makes me wonder about suitable calibers for those critters...BIG about sums it up.

That is one monster bruin and from that photo I would say your estimate is fairly accurate.

You still see those big guys occasionally but they are cautious.
Both of the bears who's hides I am shown standing behind are hanging on a 12 foot ladder and I estimated one around 1700# and the other a good 1500# .
My son helped me pack in the largest and since then he has been working on a polar bear research project for almost a decade and they have certified scales on JetRanger helicopters and get actual weights. He claims my estimates are believable as they have handled and weighed polar bears over 1400 pounds.

I estimated another good sized bear we took one fall around 1100# and when we discovered it had lip tattoos and an ear plug we looked into it and discovered it had been tagged and weighed 982# in the spring the previous year and had obviously been feeding all summer.

Im hunting browns on mainland in June, with bow. I know they are smaller and more so in spring.

No Bear for me. Had to leave Hunt early do to orthopedic problems. Still stuck in Kodiak. Outfitters kid shot a nice 10 foot bear.
