martGot to meet a fellow AR member
I had the privilege of having lunch with a fellow AR member today. Dirklawyer turned out to be a fine gentleman, fellow shooter and hunter and a brother in Christ. It was an honor and privilege to share a meal with him and get to know one another.
Dirk, I look forward to more such opportunities. Thank you for a fine meal and fine fellowship.
"...I advise the gun. While this gives a moderate exercise to the body, it gives boldness, enterprize, and independance to the mind. AntlersDirk is a good, honorable man, a brother in the Lord, a friend, and a fine hunting partner.
For me anyway, there are few folk that make that list.

FrostbitCould be a weird question but.....who would attend a meet and greet of Alaskan AR members if one was hosted?
I've enjoyed meeting AR'ers at the double rifle shoots Cal and O-Bob have organized.
Cheers

I'd be up for that, but live in Juneau so would need some lag time. Would love to attend the DR shoots, but the spring one has always conflicted with brown bear hunts...

We can revisit this topic with a separate thread later.

Are you on regular 2 & 2? What your R&R dates for April?
Cheers

FrostbitI know it will be impossible for everyone to be available for a particular date so I'll likely pick one and see how lucky we get. Being blissfully retired I have little timing issues.

cal pappasGents:
Why not hold it the PM of May 6 to coinside with the double shoot? Folks can attend the shoot if they want or just come to the AR reunion. Those at the shoot can come to the AR reunion if they wish.
Shortly after the shoot will be a get together at PaulArd's house in Acnhorage. Maybe this all can be coordinated into one event (if you wish, that is).

Sounds like Anters has the same timing issue for a May date. Perhaps something in April at my place and then Cal's idea of a get together after the double shoot.
Thoughts Gents?

I work a three and three schedule. My R&R in April is from 4/12 to 5/2. Most of that will probably be spent in NY helping my Dad get his stuff together for an auction. He is a widower now (my step mom passed this last fall) and he is going to move to a senior apartment.

I hope to be unavailable in early May as well; at least an April date would give me a chance.

We're going to be "gifted" with a health care plan we are forced to purchase and fined if we don't, Which purportedly covers at least ten million more people, without adding a single new doctor, but provides for 16,000 new IRS agents, written by a committee whose chairman says he doesn't understand it, passed by a Congress that didn't read it but exempted themselves from it, and signed by a President, with funding administered by a treasury chief who didn't pay his taxes, for which we'll be taxed for four years before any benefits take effect, by a government which has already bankrupted Social Security and Medicare, all to be overseen by a surgeon general who is obese, and financed by a country that's broke!!!!!
