During the course of our brown bear season here at the lake a couple of bears made off,they were each hit hard but not hard enough. Our Karelian on a leash) and my wife tracked both down and I was able to seal the deal! I know this is an old thread but its just too good not to bring back to the top. . It don't get no better than a good wife a 458 And a Karelian. And dead brown bears . My Karelian / Husky cross died this past Jan. Absolutely amazing dog. Highly intelligent, fearless and aggressive. What load are you shooting? . Phil Shoemaker : "I went to a .30-06 on a fine old Mauser action. That worked successfully for a few years until a wounded, vindictive brown bear taught me that precise bullet placement is not always possible in thick alders, at spitting distances and when time is measured in split seconds.
