Who's going to the show this weekend? Who's getting a table and what are you selling? You might have something I need Smiler

I'll be there on Saturday. I have stuff to sell but probably won't bring anything since I don't have a table this time.

I am going because I am bored,lol.
I rarely ever find a gun at a show worth purchasing anymore up here. Seems like most of the weapons just move from table to table. Can be an interesting source of reloading components though.

My biggest fear is when I die my wife will sell my guns for what I told her they cost.

I hear ya. I generally don't buy at shows but I do enjoy looking and sometimes selling. I have an FFL if anyone needs assistance in ANC or the valley.

I've lived in the bush until this summer so I haven't gotten a chance to meet any of the AK locals from this forum. Perhaps I'll meet some at this show.

Yukon,
You should post here and over at the Alaska Forum (http://forums.outdoorsdirectory.com/) how much you charge for receiving transfers because folks are always looking for receiving dealers around Anchorage.

I charge $20 for a transfer. I also have a class 3 and that transfer is $50. I didn't mean for this to turn into an ad for me.

Hey, it's a balmy -10 this morning. I just moved in from the bush and we averaged about -15 to -20 out there. This is kind of nice Smiler

I found a 22 rimfire that had been stolen from my buddies house in anchorage at the last gun show in eagle rifle. They guy had gotten it from from the cash alaska pawn on spenard street. You never know what your going to find at these things. I'll probably go just to see whats out there.

I lived in Fairbanks for the last three winters. I am loving the mild temps here back in the valley.

I cant make it but if someone does go and if they would do me a favor. If someone sees a set of 9.3x62 dies, would they pick them up for me. I'll square up afterwords. I gotta work so I cant make it.

I would appreciate it.

A lesson in irony

The Food Stamp Program, administered by the U.S. Department of Agriculture, is proud to be distributing this year the greatest amount of free Meals and Food Stamps ever, to 46 million people.

Meanwhile, the National Park Service, administered by the U.S. Department of the Interior, asks us... "Please Do Not Feed the Animals." Their stated reason for the policy is because "The animals will grow dependent on handouts and will not learn to take care of themselves."

Thus ends today's lesson in irony.

I'll most likely go...

I found that Alaskan Gunshow tables mostly display large numbers of junk Rugers and rifles that cost more on the table at the show roughly used, than they did brand new at Wal-Mart.

Rust must be expensive up here!

Ceg, you are soooooo right. I only go to see if there is any odd ball components.
The prices of guns, new and used are always much higher than can be found in local stores.

Look at the prices on the rifles that are on the tables that Wasilla Pawn Shop owns. You'll laugh.

Hey Snowwolfe,

I finally found a used M700 for sale!

I talked him into saling the action alone. I let him keep the stock and scope w/rings. A good action for 260.00 just can't be beat!

Now it is off to Stan Jackson's shop for a 280 AI build.

Oh yeah,

This one guy had a SS, 300 Ultra Mag, vanilla flavored Winchester for sale... get this $1500.00! pissers

New it would have sold for 550.00 to 600.00.

I think it wonderful that I live in a country that "super-inflates" the value of a product... after the company bankrupted.

Talk about re-enforcing failure!

Sounds like you and I were on the same wave length. I picked up a good Rem 700 adl for $225 and dropped it off at the gunsmith this evening to be turned into a .280AI! It took me awhile to find someone who would deal though. I had to go back on Sun for the last couple hours and make a few offers before I worked out a deal. The deals were far and few between........
