Since I posted the start of this thread I remember a guy I knew that lived in Thorne Bay .....He said he has taken 65 wolves from Tolstoy .......over the years and I remember he said he uses a 22/250.. I forget what bullet...... if there were sasquaches , some miner would have a recipe for them | |||

I have shot several with the AR-15 and a T/C in 243 ( 243 always in camp ) and have never lost a wolf to either cal. I have however missed a few.... Believe it or not. My 243 load is a 85 Nos Part backed by some 4350 and is a real killer to 400 yds. Most shots seam to be about 200.. 243 win <>< Its my favorite. I shot this wolf last April with a .300 Ultra Mag shooting 180 Swift Scirocco's. The hole going in was .30 caliber and coming out was .40 caliber. "Take your kid hunting, so you don't have to go hunting for your kid." Ted Nugent | |||
