I live in Stuckagain. Same Bear played soccer with my bear resistant trash bin two nights ago but left my garage alone. My dog harrassed him out of the area.

Frostbit, for some reason I thought you were up in Fairbanks.

During my 1st tour at Ft Rich in the early 80’s, we used to go to Stuckagain Heights for diner on a regular basis.

Used to live in Dillingham, now in Anchorage. That restaurant, as you probably know, is long gone.

My back lot line is BLM land assigned to Fort Rich and has three major game trails leading to my house. Lots of critters mosey through.

Brown Bear are generally way more secretive than the frequent Black Bear.

This trouble Bear showed no fear and it's death was warranted.

I doesn't even have to be a big bear to do lots of damage.

I know of a 80lb or so black bear that broke into a summer home and kind of got trap in there.

They figure he was in the house for week or better. What a mess.

I've hunted Moose from Frostbit's house on Ft Rich on a Moose tag I drew last year, and I can vouch there are some large bears in that area, the Game wardens on base can't do much but chase them off or put up marking tape and signs to keep joggers and hikers aware of bear activity in the area. Wish they would open it up, at least on a draw permit for them.
