Well after months of being told I would be on assignement instruction to Alaska it has finally happened. Initially they told me i was heading to Ft Wainwrightbut now I'm going to Ft Richardson. I didn't care which post I ended up at... Well I say that now LOL... Anyhow I hope the hunting is good around Richardson. I report in July..

Welcome to Alaska. There is a lot of hunting to be done in the state but most of it isn't around Ft. Rich, which is basically right beside Anchorage.

Try up the Parks Hwy towards the swamps on public land that come off the end of the Ruth Glacier. I have seen 11 big bulls there in the fall flying over. I have friends that go up every fall, they go 40 miles off the highway.
