Any updates on Dall populations? Want to do a hunt but really need some assurance that there are "sheep on the mountain" after the bad die offs of past couple of years. Thanks.

Depends on what tag you can get, who may have openings, does guide have a Federal or exclusive area, etc Sheep overall are hurting for sure. The bad winter ten years ago and un precedented pressure for sheep hunting have taken a toll. Alaska just closed Unit 19 to nonresidents for 5 years. An outfitter friend in the NWT is booked thru 2027 at $40,000. Some outfitters there are even higher. I have finally gotten into looking at a sheep hunt, but timing couldn't be worse honestly. They sheep harvest this year was the lowest in like 20 years. An outfitter friend in the Wrangells is booked thru 2025 at $35,000. Competition is so bad, he no longer posts sheep picture on any media. I would go with either of the friends listed, but as a retired guy, I really don't think I can afford to go. There are hunts to be had, just make sure it's not gonna be an expensive camping trip. Good luck in your search and if you find a reasonable cost, hidden gem of a hunt, call me!!
