Swift makes a .338-caliber 275-grain A-Frame. This one may be a little too tough for the .338-06, but I imagine it should work very well within 200 yards. I always take a few .338 handloads with the 275 grainers when hunting moose in bear country, but so far I haven't had the need to use them. The 250-grain A-Frame is an accurate hunting bullet. The one I retrieved from moose retained almost all it's weight, and it looks somewhat similar to the 230-grain FS I retrieved from another moose.

You hit the nail on the head with that one. We hunters too often over emphasize energy when another component, mass, is also a very significant component. Bear in Fairbanks
