My hip-boots are 2 years old and have been worn very little compared to when I had a full guiding plate. I grabbed them from the cabin and they are totally disintegrating into a chunked up powdery mess. As I'm leaving on a hunt a new pair of hip-boots will be purchased but not Lacrosse for me anymore. They used to last on the bottoms were too smooth and slippery.

You obviously had some of the recent - made in China - boots. I have seen them rot in six months!
And I still have a few sets of the made in the USA models that I set aside thar are 15 years old and still new in the box and soft and supple and I have boxes of worn boots, some older than that that still work just fine.
I was told by the folks that used to work at LaCross that the Chinese put clay in their rubber to make it go farther. The other sad part is that, even though they LaCross boots are now made in China, they still cost the same !

Interesting . I have Lacross boots that last for years.
Perhaps the China issue is the problem .

I like the Lacrosse knee highs but they to have changed. Tried to buy a pair at the Sportsman show, and the 11,s were to small and the 12,s to big. Have worn 11 forever, wife bought a pair and her size that fit was 2 sizes larger. Hope they hold up, Phil I hate hearing that the only hip boots I love are the La Crosse ancle fit.Kurt

The Chinese have no regard for human life, much less that your feet. Their take on animal life and the environment is even much less.

Maybe LaCrosse will move production to Mexico, at least those are neighbors and maybe more of them would stay home and not move here.

The Chinese are out to dominate the world; SOBs.

Who's got a line on a better hip boot solution? I'm open to something different or better.

I hear you. My most recent pair were 1 full size larger than I have worn for years in the exact same boot.

Well,,,,for all my pinning and moaning about LaCrosse I just bought another pair,,,,

I tried on 3 different other brands and new they would raise hell with my feet for sure.

I will store these on a boot hanger in the house

as opposed to on a shelf in a cold cabin to see if that helps with their life expectantcee.

Before I wore Lacross Ancle fits I had a pair of Ranger very comfortable. Dont know if they have ankle fits, or quality, but good reviews. Any one have a pair?

Ranger made very good boots but I always found the LaCross to fit better.

mine I have lasted almost 20 years. Sad that the new ones fall apart. To be honest, I dont know other brands that will keep up.

I have had trouble getting LaCross boots locally. As a result, I have purchased a few pairs of Irish Setter boots.

These boots are as comfortable if not more so than LaCross boots. They have the ankle fit. We have used one pair for 2 seasons. They appear to be holding their own right now.

I am happy with them at the present time. Time will tell.
