. Savage's custom shop is basically an erector set shop that takes existing factory components and assembles them in ways not offered in the standard catalog. It is a good service and I have made use of it more than once. Will Ruger's custom shop do the same ? For example, will the Ruger custom shop screw a barrel which the factory routinely makes for its right-hand offerings onto a suitable left-hand Ruger action ? For example, put a 220 Swift on a left-hand Model 77 ? Or a 416 Ruger on a LH 77 ? .

Even Ruger has some standards. Frank "I don't know what there is about buffalo that frightens me so.....He looks like he hates you personally. He looks like you owe him money." - Robert Ruark, Horn of the Hunter, 1953 NRA Life, SAF Life, CRPA Life, DRSS lite

Ruger won't even change calibers on a rifle when the exact same model was available in a different caliber. Quick, Cheap, or Good: Pick Two

The late Bill Ruger Sr. himself was Lt. handed and yet because the word profit did not equate to making more Lt. handed models it did not and will not happen with Ruger, custom shop or not. "An individual with experience is never at the mercies of an individual with an argument"
