Geez,

Spoke with the folks at Winchester's customer service and ask when we might expect a new run of LEFTIES.

With appoligizes from the customer service rep, was told that not to expect any in 2012, but their looking at a run in 2013.

So, LOL.....

Not LOL, SOL. Wink

Thankfully, I've got seven LH M-70s, so I am set for life.

Like George, better to have them in the safe if you ever want to use or rebarrel one... I have six in my safe. I find the prices to be inflated on gunbroker, but if people are willing to pay the price...

One in .338 at a Gander Mountain near where I am working. I am just wondering if it is worth what they are asking. That is a lot of caliber, and I really don't need it... but it IS one caliber I don't have.

How much are they asking? (No worries, I already have one in .338).

IIRC, it was used and carrying the scope bases. The price was $699, but it was very clean.

That is a very good price for a LH M-70 .338.

In my opinion, there are three GCCs:

.30-06
.338 Win. Mag.
.375H&H

Any one of them would qualify as all the gun you'd ever need to hunt the world (with a few legally-imposed exceptions for DG).

QSL,

i hope you re right but i doubt that the CS rep will have a clue about what will happen in 2013 ... wishing and dreaming are great (im one of those ...) since the reopening of the factory Winchester wasnt able to answer to the production so unless they open more lines there is a few chances that will see soon a LH mod 70 ... and in the case of course economy is getting better too ...

Medved dreaming too ....

I believe that all the LH models are CRF, so that price is very low. I'd say you ned it or should get it for someone here who does.

I already bought mine in .338 earlier this year, so I am all set, but while mine is stainless, I paid double this price.

Heck, by 2013, we may all be dead -- or the new ones will be further postponed and older ones far more expensive. You have to act on opportunities as they come.

I'd like to find a non-magnum LH M70. I already own a 375 so I don't need another <40 cal magnum.

Well, there are a few around. You might take a look at the LH SS .30-06 on Gunbroker at # 266695082. He's offered it since September, until recently with a cracked stock and at different prices (IMO always rather over-priced), but he might consider a realistic offer.

A year sgo, I offered on AR a new/boxed LH Mod. 70 in 7 Rem. mag. for 900., and was ridiculed by a couple of members, as being excessivly priced. So, the box was put away.....and if anyone might be interested, please communicate.

When Winchester came back on line a gun dealer friend ask about the availablity of LH rifles at the SHOT show.
They told him only 7% of their sales came from LH rifles.
That means they are going to take care of their 93% first.
Hopefully we lefties will get a chance in the future.
I have a mod.70LH in 375H&H that was a 7mag in its previous life.
It's been on 2 safaris & is a better rifle than I am a shooter.
