I stood it as long as I could. Everything was fine using H335 and IMR 4064, but when I began stoking it with my PH's load of 74 grains of Accurate 2230 and 500 gr. Hornady softs and solids, the 8.5 pounder became too much. It absolutely tore up a slip-on Decelerator. Call me a sissy. I don't care. But boy, the accuracy! It is worth it. Adding a permanant Limbsaver, too.

I have DeadMule reducers in my .470 Capstick. I wouldn't want to shoot full-power loads without them. George

I hope it works for you. Don’t feel alone in not enjoying recoil. I have quite a few big bore guns and enjoy hunting with them. They have their place in the field. However they are not always “fun” to shoot when getting things zeroed. I also know that getting the snot knocked out of you will cause bad habits and will impact your shooting skills. Some may tell you they are immune to recoil, and they may be, but I am not and don’t feel that I am any less of a man for admitting it. ****************************************************************** R. Lee Ermey: "The deadliest weapon in the world is a Marine and his rifle." ****************************************************************** We're going to be "gifted" with a health care plan we are forced to purchase and fined if we don't, Which purportedly covers at least ten million more people, without adding a single new doctor, but provides for 16,000 new IRS agents, written by a committee whose chairman says he doesn't understand it, passed by a Congress that didn't read it but exempted themselves from it, and signed by a President, with funding administered by a treasury chief who didn't pay his taxes, for which we'll be taxed for four years before any benefits take effect, by a government which has already bankrupted Social Security and Medicare, all to be overseen by a surgeon general who is obese, and financed by a country that's broke!!!!! In between shooting the .458, I also shoot my Bushmaster 5.56 and my 7mm Remmy. Also my .375. This prevents me from developing a permanent flinch. I also shoot plinker loads using 405 grain Remington bullets and 4064 in the .458. They recoil about like my .375, which I enjoy. but the full power loads are a challenge. I hope I'm making a wise investment.
