I've read in a couple of places that they may be planning it. Anyone know anything for sure?

Any ideas about chamberings?

They told one gent on here they were, they told me they were not.
At this point it is anyones guess. But my hunch is they will make a run of 30-06's and 300 Win Mags and then go from there if they sell.
Purely speculation on my part.

My biggest fear is when I die my wife will sell my guns for what I told her they cost.

Yes, they will, some day..

I have spoke to Winchester several times lately and they were hoping to start production by early 2011.
In the last few weeks they had a meeting and supposedly announced that due to the economy, production has been postponed for 2011.
Take it for what it's worth.

I just want a Featherweight in 308win, that sounds like a very reasonable request, but I'm sure it will NEVER happen.

Well...I'd like one in .416 Ruger. What are the odds?

I'm selling some .22 magazines, so I've got a down payment!

What's wrong with a LH Model 70 in 375 H&H? I would buy one in a heartbeat.

There's nothing wrong with it at all but Winchester isn't going to make one any time soon, (probably in my lifetime).

I have one from the last run of receivers built in New Haven in 2004 and it is the last gun that I will ever give up.

In following this thread...maybe they should just say: "We are going to make X number of LH SS actions, with a base price of $$. We will screw on a barrel/cal, of your choice for $$. And we will stock it in either wood or syn. for $$.

In that case, I'll take two.. a 416Rem and a 264Win, please.

That'd be nice!

The custom shop...in the "old days" I called Winchester to let them know I'd sure like a SS .338 like they made once upon a time. The nice lady said there wouldn't be any off the shelf ones, but if I wanted the custom shop to make me one they could...for well over two grand. I picked up a blued .338 for $550 and it goes bang just fine.

I still dream of...lots!

I see several of our group are not WSM fans? I bought a feather weight LH in .270 WSM and frankly it is a dandy. It shoots 150 grn factory inside a inch all day long. On top of that its a very nice handling rifle. It may not be a popular opinion but its my opinion. It may one day replace my custom .284 sheep rifle.

I picked up a Featherweight LH in .270 WSM a couple of years ago. I load it to .270 Winchester ballistics with a 130 gr Sierra and it's very accurate. Gun was used, had a Buckmasters scope mounted and they threw in a box of ammo for $550.

I hope they bring them back but I hate the new trigger design. The older M-70 trigger was the best in the business for reliability and function IMO.

We're going to be "gifted" with a health care plan we are forced to purchase and fined if we don't, Which purportedly covers at least ten million more people, without adding a single new doctor, but provides for 16,000 new IRS agents, written by a committee whose chairman says he doesn't understand it, passed by a Congress that didn't read it but exempted themselves from it, and signed by a President, with funding administered by a treasury chief who didn't pay his taxes, for which we'll be taxed for four years before any benefits take effect, by a government which has already bankrupted Social Security and Medicare, all to be overseen by a surgeon general who is obese, and financed by a country that's broke!!!!!
